Anna + Jonathan // Mexico Engagement

Oh Mexico, you have my heart. We have been doing lots of traveling this season (hence our terrible email response rate of late) but we wouldn’t have it any other way! Who needs sleep? 🙂 We actually just got back from a darling UK wedding that we can’t wait to share soon, but today it’s all about one of our fave getaways…Baja. It’s no secret that we love grabbing some tacos down south and visiting the insane gems in Valle, so much so that we got our Sentri passes explicitly for that purpose. So if you were thinking of doing photos in Mexico, don’t even hesitate. We’re down!

We were super pumped when we met Anna & Jonathan and they shared their vision of heading down to her family’s home in La Fonda and exploring some tide pools & cliffs. Anna had so many fond memories of growing up and playing there as a kid. She showed us her favorite features and haunts and soaked in the history of the place…and the colors! Such crazy, vibrant tones we got to play with! The taco + churro combo we snagged on the way back certainly helped top off an already perfect day. Take a little mental vacay this Monday and get lost in this session instead.

Ryan + Lucas // Desert Engagement Part 2

It’s been forever since we’ve posted! We are knee-deep in editing + new content right now but have been bad about taking the time to reflect and share. So here’s a double dose for you today.

We took a 24 hour vacay to Palm Springs and while it was everything we needed, it was also 115 degrees. But complaining about the heat doesn’t do much good so we’re trying to embrace it today (yeah 2nd floor, hot air rises, no AC in the office, whoop whoop!) But really, the desert is pretty fun to shoot in and so today we’re finally sharing part 2 of one of our faves – Ryan and Lucas (see part 1 back here). Who wants to go back and shoot there once it cools down??

Roselyn + Neil // San Diego Engagement

We have been hustling this month! But can I just say, it’s been so worth it. Our clients are the best! And so many of you have taken the time out of your own crazy lives to shoot us little sweet emails, or send cards of thanks and it really, truly makes us so so happy. We start every little weekly meeting we do by rereading some of your sweet words of affirmation and it’s just the best. So thank you for keeping us going. Okay, I’ll stop gushing now. Let’s be honest though, we do need breaks. So we are treating ourselves to a quick little 4 year anniversary getaway to Valle de Guadalupe tomorrow (wine country, people, check it out)! It should be 36 hours of pure amazingness and we are ready for it. Bring one the vino and local cuisine. (Shoot us some rec’s!) But we couldn’t take off without wrapping up some sessions and just had to share some of Roselyn and Neil’s engagement. They have such a sweet love for each other and their pup, Kobe ( #golakers) who tagged along. And how amazing is her skirt? They’ll be getting married at the San Diego Library later this fall and it’s going to be a good one!

Ryan + Lucas // Desert Engagement Part 1

Happy Almost Memorial Weekend!!! We are on our way to LA and Ventura for some wedding and engagement fun but are so excited to share part one of this shoot we did for some dear friends.

Ryan and Lucas are the best! We decided to make a day out of it and trekked out to Imperial Valley for some desert vibes. Despite small fears of getting run over by quads or more realistic fears like getting our Prius stuck in the sand and realizing we no longer have AAA (which did happen) or the fact that the little weather app promised temps of 90-100+, we assuaged our fears with Rose and snacks and coconut water, and it.was.good. Real good. California, you’re so cool!

Ryan and Lucas, you guys are the best! Thanks for laughing at our jokes, getting sand thrown in your hair (sorry Ryan), and being up for running around in the hot sun all day.

Big thanks to Miss Suzy Lee + Aloha Sunday for styling these two and making them look extra nice!

Molly + Brennen // Outdoor Engagement

Molly is one of the most cheerful, upbeat, delightful human beings you will ever meet.

Brennen is a way more legit version of Mike Ross and patiently enlightened us regarding the truths and fallacies of our latest binge watch.

Molly works for an amazing cause  and (fun fact) Chadwick shot her graduation announcement years ago!

Brennen has a heart of gold and even randomly spent his high school years tutoring Molly’s brother.

Their families love each other. They grew up in the same small town. I’ve got to imagine that everyone was pretty much just waiting for these two to get together. They know how to be silly together, to laugh together, and they adventure together. We can’t wait for their wedding and to see where life takes these two next! Molly and Brennen, come back to SD soooooon!
